Our Philosophy:
Our bodies are beautifully adaptable at any age. They progressively adapt to the forces that we place upon them. They will respond to these forces in numerous ways including improving the extensibility of ligament, tendon and muscle, increasing the number and diameter of our blood vessels and depositing more bone where pressure is consistently applied. These changes improve oxygenation of our various tissues, strength of our bones and resilience of our soft tissues. Our nerves proliferate and become more precise in their message. The messages become more efficient and effective with greater speed using proper neurological input. We are continually evolving. In fact we believe that every single body is an example of evolution on a small scale.
Though there are times a Physical Therapist may leave you a bit sore after treatment, it is not necessary for your treatments to be painful to yield results. It is the opposite. You will get excellent results with a progressively increasing vigor of treatment to reduce treatment soreness between visits. Pain is an indication that a tissue is being irritated which should always be communicated to your therapist. Beginning more gently to establish a patients irritability is our approach to providing excellent treatments that yield results.
Marc’s Bio:
I’m a Physical Therapist with orthopedic and neurological specialties and I graduated from Mount Saint Mary’s in our own backyard of Brentwood. I have practiced for over 25 years with an emphasis on collaborative communication and pain free treatments.
My work focuses primarily on the goals of my patients with greater joint mobility followed by functional strengthening to allow them to enjoy a pain free life.
If you are interested in recovering from a persistently problematic joint, a reduction in functional or recreational ability, or less engagement in the community for fear of injury then Palisades PT & Wellness may be your answer. If you acquired a shoulder, knee or spinal injury or have suffered a stroke or spinal cord injury, these are my specialities plus I also thrive on a good challenge!
Kelsey’s Bio:
I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona in 2014 after graduating from Kenyon College in 2007. I opened a small, niche clinic with a colleague in West L.A. in 2016 focusing on temporomandibular joint dysfunction and craniofacial pain, working closely with local dentists and oral surgeons.
I have experienced almost every setting in 4 different states as a traveling physical therapist. I am excited to settle down in Southern California with my husband and finally be close to family and friends.
I work to create a safe space for healing the mind, body and spirit. I fully believe in movement as medicine. My focus is empowerment through education. I am passionate about getting my clients back to the quality of life they deserve and I do not believe age should dictate ability.
